A Winter Wonderland in Colchester

After weeks of working in the cold warehouse, painting, fixing and glueing, all that remained was to add the final touches to our fabulous Ice Palace Entrance Arch....glitter, glitter, more glitter and glittery snow (in other words...the fun bit!)

At long last, it was ready and it went out for it's first showing last weekend.  The Army boys of Colchester were having their annual Christmas bash, Winter Wonderland was the theme and Steel City Promotions, the magic makers!  The equipment for the event only just fit in the van after much manouvering (and expert van packing skills) and the guys were off!  Andy, Sam and Krissie were tasked with the job of making everything look great and creating a real WOW factor in the Officers Mess. 

Sam is our official Lighting Technician, always on hand to transform a drab function room! Andy was our Event Manager, ensuring everything went to plan and Krissie was the Artistic Director ensuring all the tables were looking magnificent with White Table Cloths and Chair Covers, Silver Sashes and Bows and our fantastic Illuminated Frosted Dome Table Centre Pieces.

Our huge Stalagmite props really added impact to the Ice Palace Entrance, and clever lighting gave the room an eerily cool feeling.  And of course, what Winter Wonderland themed event wouldn't be complete without the Illuminated Ice Cube Seating and Poseur Tables?

And the award for the last minute month of 2011 goes to.........

.......November!  All year, November has been looking pretty quiet which we've been looking forward to - time to prepare for the December rush and build all the lovely new props for our fabulous events that are coming up.  Instead this month has gone crazy for promotional staff, games hire and Winter Wonderland theming and its all been last minute! We're loving it!

So after 2 weeks of Klick Fitness promotion and some ice breakers in Manchester, this week will see us at the Silverstone Circuit for two days for some corporate entertainment, over at the NEC in Birmingham for a further two days for a promotional exhibition and attending a small wedding with some Casino Tables in Lancashire.  We're about to hit December head on and we're absolutely raring to go!

On the to do list for the next couple of weeks are; finishing the pirate set, customising our mirror ball table centres, create our magnificent illuminated city scape backdrop and launder many, many, many, chair covers and table cloths.  The list is endless at HQ.  Have we got you on the edge of your seat for fabulous photos yet? Klick Fitness Promotion.

Last week saw Steel City Promotions undertake a promotion for Klick Fitness; a new gym brand under the Fitness First umbrella.  We sent off Hannah and Grace up to Wakefield for the first part of the week and then Rachel replaced Hannah on Friday and Saturday. The girls were given a promo car and a brief that was to raise as much awareness about the new gym in the surrounding areas as possible.  They gave out endless goody bags that contained mini handwarmers and plenty of literature about the new gym.

For this promotion we were just asked to provide appropriate staff to match the brief, however quite often we are asked to take care of the whole promotion.  Branding, staffing, design and promotion management are all part of the service.  From product launches to roadshows and everything in between.

Our girls, Ellie and Marrie are in Stoke this week for their opening of Klick Fitness.  The same process will apply, lets just hope the weather stays fine!
