New York State of Mind!

We love a good party here at SCP HQ and we’ve been involved in some crackers this weekend.  Our Manhattan theming has been spread far and wide, high and low and our vans have certainly put in some miles!

We dressed a magnificent Black and White Themed Ball in Rotherham; a charity event all in aid of Rotherham Hospice.  Black and White linen neutralised the venue space adding glamour and continuing the theme throughout.  The Ball had a ‘Broadway’ twist to it so our brand new Manhattan backdrops made a stunning feature either side of the stage.  Cool and slick pink lighting created atmosphere, mood and ambience and our Statue of Liberty was ever present at the entrance.  Of course, what Black and White Ball would be complete without fabulous Black and White Stilt Walkers?!

Another team headed off down to Essex, dressed to impress with a van full of goodies.  A surprise birthday party full of glamour and sophistication with a rather modern focus.  Our City Scape Backdrop made its first appearance; a brand new prop and what a feature it is!! Fully illuminated in 2D and 3D sections it really does set the scene! Clever lighting lifted the venue – this event also wanted a pink colour scheme and feature props including our Giant Pink Shoe created fantastic photo opportunities.

So, the vans are unpacked and a new week has begun…we have lots to prepare over the next few weeks, including some spooky sets for Halloween, American Diner props for our, well…American Diner theme and some great new 007 props ready for all the Bond themed events going out in October! We’d best get cracking!

The name's Bond; James Bond!

This weekend has been Bond mad!! We’ve been to Wrexham (yes boys, that IS in Wales, despite what you may think!!).  Our team got a little frustrated with the old satellite navigation system when it wouldn’t find the postcode despite many minutes of effort!! One change of country soon had that fixed and they were on their way – seriously, you just can’t let them out!!

So once they arrived in sun shiny Wales, they were greeted with a fabulous marquee to dress for a Charity Ball.  Our Silhouette Panels and Striking Backdrop took pride of place amongst fabulous lighting effects, beautiful linen and great entertainment.  Daniel Craig’s dad and brother even made an appearance and Casino Tables went down a treat!

More 007 madness involved our fabulous Golden Gun prop and feature lighting taking pride of place at Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire.  We’re doing lots of ‘prop drops’ at the moment, everything from a single prop to a full themed room set – we can create magic from everywhere!

At the moment 007 is firmly back in the warehouse until early October, and Manhattan Nights and New York theming are fully taking over in the popularity stakes.  This weekend we’re off round the country with Skyline Backdrops, Statue of Liberty’s, Giant Shoes and oodles of Lighting, Linen and Illuminated Table Centres – fabulous daahling!

Wild West
A theme full of fun and a little bit on the wild side! Transport your guests to the Wild West and be entertained by our Saloon Bar Casino and Dancing Girls.  Our rustic props and theming are sure to WOW so why not have an alternative Christmas Party, don those cowboy boots and line dance the night away!

Movers and Shakers!

WOW! What a week! First off we’ve settled nicely into our new surroundings…brand new office, brand new warehouse! It’s all very swish here at SCP!

On Sunday we were exhibiting at Ice Sheffield for the ‘I Do Wedding Show’ and what a fantastic show it was…there was a real buzz about the place! We took the ever popular Casino table and dressed it up with a bit of Star Cloth and funky chequered dance floor.  We were a big hit, entertaining those lost looking grooms to be!

Tomorrow we are heading to Lincoln to get the Roulette wheel spinning and the Black Jack cards shuffled at one of our fun casinos before heading to Warwick for Friday’s event. We are excited to be holding a team building day for Michelin involving remote control cars and challenging courses, the lads have been acting like kids in a toy shop ‘testing’ out the new purchases! I hope the client is as enthusiastic as our team!

This week we have also confirmed a number of spooky Halloween events, all set to be sensationally spine-tingling with fantastic lighting effects and dark atmospheric props. Manchester had better watch out as we are letting our Fire performer, Grim Reaper Living Statue and Devil Living Statue loose, all on the same night!  October is filling up nicely courtesy of Mr Bond and the launch of ‘Skyfall’, so these Halloween events are just slotting in perfectly alongside.
