007 hits Nottingham!

The queen of themes of 2012 seems to be carrying on over to 2013! You guessed it, Bond is back! We've participated in many a Bond event over the last couple of weeks, including a fantastic 007 themed Charity Ball in South Wales and a rather swanky client event in Nottingham.  Both events portrayed some of our best work; styling up venues and entertaining the masses!

The event in Nottingham was a super long day for the guys – let’s look at the statistics shall we;

·         128 x Man Hours

·         100m x of Star Cloth

·         12 x Illuminated Martini Glasses

·         11 x Silhouette Panels

·         10 x Fun Casino Tables

·         2 x Heavily Loaded Long Wheel Base Vans

·         1 x Daniel Craig Look-a-Like

·         1 x Bond Girl

 A 9am start and a 5am finish – phewf! Good going team!

We transformed a bright and airy marquee into a suave and glittering ‘gambling den’ of sorts.  Daniel Craig and our beautiful Bond Girl worked the Red Carpet and were on hand to welcome guests and pose for photos.

The casino tables opened and entertained all night – we had the ever popular Roulette and Black Jack Tables, we also had our fabulous Dice table – a great game for all, Wheel of Fortune and a couple of Poker Tables.   It was a brilliant event to work; all the guests were in great spirits and the room looked amazing! Check out the ‘Before’ and ‘After’ shots!

We’ve still got loads to tell you about recent events – Player of the Year Awards, A Fabulous Moulin Rouge themed dinner and a couple of Wonkatastic events! Coming soon…..
If you’ve got a venue that needs transforming, are in need of a little entertainment or have an event that requires a theme…you know where to find us!

Fabulous Roaring 20's!

Well, we certainly have been busy little bees recently (hence the lack of blogging going on!).  Firstly let me tell you about a cool and rather slick Roaring 20’s event we did for a 21st Birthday Party last weekend; A large scale operation involving marquees, star cloth, fancy lighting, props and entertainment.
This event had been in the planning for quite a while; we’d done many a site visit and lots of liaising with the different suppliers, such as our regular marquee company and caterers (we may be excellent at theming, props, lighting etc. but when it comes to catering, best leave that to the pros! The guests may have ended up with cheese sandwiches otherwise – not very 1920’s!)

The marquee had to go up a few days before the party, so we were on site, bright and early on the Wednesday.  The structure took all day to go up and then we were back on Thursday to add in the details. The marquee was lined in ivory and we built a strip of black star cloth right down the centre.  This was to darken the marquee down, make it feel less ‘pretty’ and add a little bit of glamorous sparkle!
Friday was the day it all started coming together…we delivered all our props, dance floor and lighting; the caterers began their prep and the bar was installed. We're talking Black & White Dance Floor, Beautiful 1920's Silhouette Backdrops and Stunning Lighting Effects.

On the Saturday, we all began at the crack of dawn to concentrate on the all-important finishing touches.  The band arrived to sound check and before we knew it, guests were arriving for drinks on the lawn (although they had to hurry down the garden and shelter under the Chinese Hat as the weather was awful!) The guests looked fantastic - they all really went to town on costumes; While the ladies went for 1920's Flapper dresses, the men donned tuxedo's and fake moustaches and there were feathers everywhere!

After dinner, the band struck their first chord – a rather cool Electro Swing Band – and I personally have never seen a dance floor fill so fast! The guests were in full party spirit from the word go and the atmosphere was brilliant!

A lot of hard work went into making this event look stunning, but it certainly paid off – everyone, guests and crew alike all had a super time!

Since then, we’ve been pulling all sorts of events together, mainly on the corporate side – the next blog will tell you all about a fabulous 007 event we did in Nottingham at the weekend just gone! It will be up here shortly – keep your peepers peeled!

Alice in the Wild West?!

There’s nothing quite like a quick blast of sunshine to get everyone feeling good! People get more productive, there are far more smiles about and more importantly, we can take off that extra pair of socks we’ve been wearing for the past 5 months!
So, Spring looks to be peeking through the clouds, and very soon we’ll be headlong into what we hope will be a glorious Summer! We’re predicting Wild West BBQ’s and Alice in Wonderland Garden Parties will be the trend for Summer 2013 – two very contrasting themes, one rustic and rugged; one elegant and playful – wonder what would happen if they merged - now there’s an idea! Although, Alice in the Wild West may be taking it a bit too far!
We’ve got some great props and entertainment options for both of these themes! For Alice in Wonderland, think; Drink me Bottles, Giant Planters, Grass Seating, and Oversized Hats. We’ve got some great White Rabbit Stilt Walkers, Mad Hatter Look-a-Likes and some marvellous magicians.
Wild West style, our fabulous Can Can Dancers are sure to WOW! Jump aboard the Rodeo Bull or head down to the Saloon Bar Casino for some guaranteed fun! Prop wise, we’ve got some magnificent and completely unique backdrops, a huge Saloon Bar Entrance Way, complete with Swing Doors and tonnes of bunting, whiskey barrels and cacti all ready to add to your Wild West event!
We’re up for some serious fun this Summer so if you need help organising your next event, you know where to find us – just get in touch!
