Charity Success!

I thought I would take a moment to tell you all about a fantastic charity night we were part of at the weekend. This was briefly mentioned in the last blog, however I have since found out how much of a success it actually was so it definitely needs a special shout out! The night was organised in aid of Battens Disease Family Association. They help to raise awareness and funds for this rare, genetic, progressive neurodegenerative disease that occurs in children and adults worldwide. Batten Disease is the main paediatric neuro-degenerative disorder in the UK.
We often promote our Casino Tables as an effective and different method of fundraising so when Russ and Michelle approached us and told us about the event they were planning, we got very excited! Las Vegas was the theme they wanted to have in the background, so our Silhouette Panels with Vegas scenery were the perfect choice. They decided on 4 Casino Tables one of which was the fantastic Wheel of Fortune...a great choice for any Charity Night! We often run this table as a separate entity to the rest of the casino, having a prize table with a pay per spin rule.
The night went with a bang and an incredible amount of money was raised.  The total was over £5000 which will be a great help for the charity!

Tip of the Day;

We tend to advise against giving your guests free chips at the start of the night.  Although this is tempting and feels like giving something in return for buying a ticket, we nearly always find the tables don’t raise as much money!  50p or £1 per chip works very well, the money goes straight into the charity pot on each table and our friendly croupiers will always try to raise as much as possible!

So, a huge well done to Russ and Michelle for organising a fabulous night and letting us here at Steel City be a part of it – the team loved the event and will be over the moon to know how much of a success it was!
