Showcase Excitement!

What a lovely evening we all had here last night!!! A fun filled (very hot!) networking and showcase event right in the heart of theming land...SCP HQ! It took a good few days to make everything look fabulous, disguising the warehouse to make it look less, well…’warehousy’.  We built our Beach Hut (mainly used for Pirates and Caribbean themed parties) outside the front door to draw guests in and make them feel immediately welcomed. This created a bit of a stir among the industrial estate folk during the build…lots of funny looks of confusion!!! From there, guests were transformed into the Wild West and then back in time to 1950’s Hollywood.  Here they stopped to ‘chill’ (no literally…the coldest part of our warehouse is downstairs) and be greeted by some smiley faces and a glass of fizz! Moving on through Las Vegas central and onto Paris and the Moulin Rouge (with a quick stop off at the Circus on the way!), this then led upstairs to our day to day showroom which was transformed with many more props and where the entertainment for the night was taking place.  We had our house band who attended last year too…they are fabulous and brought the house down with great music all evening.  We also had our unique blast from a Brass band, who focused their attention on our 007 theme.  They were described by many guests as ‘Dramatic’ and the ‘Surprise of the Night!’ – Great stuff!!!

Our main man and mixologist Sam kept everyone topped up with cold drinks and showed off his flaring skills throughout the night.  A strange mix of cocktails was on offer, each a delight in itself (even the one that contained vinegar!!) YUM! 

Most days at work at SCP, we freeze our little socks off…the warehouse is always chilly as is the showroom so we told all of our guests to wrap up warm and to dress appropriately for the Showcase….never has it been so hot!!!!! Although we’re definitely not complaining…long may it last!!!
